It has been almost 4 years since my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers. He has been in a nursing home for over a year. I remember the day  he was being placed and the overwhelming realization  that things would never be the same. It's interesting how each of us deal when someone we love get's a specific permanent disease for where there is no cure.

The most difficult part for me was watching my dad wrestle with the fact he had Alzheimers. Desiring so much to have back his life and knowing that he was losing awareness of the life before him. My dad's journey has opened my world  to see that He's my dad more than the disease is him.
